Happy Fourth of July everyone! Hope you all had a great day and enjoyed some great family time and/or patriotic festivities. My family and I joined one of our “adopted” families for Fourth of July this year. I am stuffed, and that is from the leftovers that we brought home. Due to the rain, we missed the big fireworks show, but we’ll survive I suppose. Probably go another weekend and get the kiddo’s some fireworks we can shoot off. If nothing else, we’ll get some sparklers as they don’t make near as much noise. I was a bit shocked not to see more of our neighbors shooting fireworks off during the whole weekend. Normally by the Fourth, we are so tired of the fireworks going off for days in all directions, but we only heard some for about 30 minutes to an hour across the highway. C’est la vie!
I’ve got a couple of projects in the works at the moment. I work on the ones I feel like working on at that time. The first project that I am working on is a Celtic Knot Shawl. It is coming along nicely. Currently, I am working on starting on the wings. I’m having a wee bit of trouble with the wings so I am taking a little break to work on other projects for a few days to let my mind try and rest before I figure out the wings.
Tonight, I made my eldest daughter, Crysta, a tooth pocket to hold the money from the tooth fairy. Right at bedtime, she lost her first top tooth and I figured since I had seen a pattern on Ravelry, that I would make the pocket. It turned out fairly well for me. Here’s a shot of it.
Another simple project I am working on is a chapstick/lipstick holder. I’m almost done with it, but I am needing something to finish up attaching the button so that I can close it, and I need to get some latches so that it can be hung from my keys. I am working it up in the color of lavender. I am planning on using the same silver type button that I used for the bag that I crocheted.
Ran into a snag on Natalie’s backpack again. It really sucks. Thinking about completely unraveling and starting at the beginning one more time. I hope this time I make it right. The comments on the pattern I am following says the bag is super easy. So I guess we shall see. Wish me luck!!
